What is it?

A fractional CMO delivers c-level marketing expertise on a part-time, contract basis. They deliver all the expertise of a CMO without the expense of a full-time hire, and provide holistic subject matter expertise across marketing touchpoints.

How does it work?

Depending on your industry and organizational needs, we will match you with either our Founder or a member of our exclusive Double Black Partner Network. We will hold a discovery call wherein we can discuss needs, time commitment, and rates.  We want to be sure you feel you’ll be working with someone who is a good fit.

Once paired, your Fractional CMO will provide marketing leadership for your team(s) either virtually or in person. Their responsibilities can include:

  • Develop company’s brand and digital marketing strategies that deliver new customer acquisition, drive engagement and retention, and increase revenues and profits

  • Lead innovative creative, brand, and communications strategies

  • Drive digital best-practices among cross-functional teams

  • Oversee agency & supplier relationships; lead media agency reviews

  • Lead analytics and measurement projects

  • Train and mentor teams, upleveling skills and in-house digital capabilities

  • Interface with clients and/or investors

  • Develop investor pitch strategies

A nine-year veteran of Glaceau’s Vitamin Water and CocaCola, Ryan has a proven track record of developing and activating regional and local marketing strategies that bring brands to life and drive sales growth. Ryan is also the founder and CEO of Water Dog Paddle Co., a family-friendly eco-tourism company on John’s Island in Charleston, SC and is ranked the #1 outdoor activity to do on TripAdvisor.  When on dry land and not paddling, Ryan continues consulting with beverage and apparel start-ups.

Prior to running his own shop, he opened and managed Realtime Media’s Manhattan office, where his team managed digital advertising for clients including: Citibank, J.B. Hunt, Nasdaq, the Dallas Mavericks, Microsoft Azure, Heartland Dental, and several high-growth startups.
